€5,542.40 Raised for the Ross Nugent Foundation

This year, on 7th August 2010, we held our annual charity fundraiser in MiGym Malahide with members from swords, Malahide , friends, and family all invited to participate in the fun. Team events, Spinathons and Try-athlon”s were all held at the club with an after party BBQ held in the Wright Venue later that night

We raised a total of €5,542.40 with help from all the participants.  This money goes towards the Ross Nugent Foundation which raises money for the Oncology ward in Beaumont Hospital.

Thank you to all our members, friends and family for helping us raise over €8,000 for  Special Olympics Ireland

ON Saturday 29th August 2009 members , staff , friends  and family took part in a fundraising event to help raise money for the Special Olympics Ireland, the day was a great success and everyone seemed to have fun with a little friendly competition!  This is MiGym’s 3rd fundraiser in the 15 months we have been open.  Our plan is to have a charity fundraiser each year to raise money for different well deserved causes.  We hope you can join in on our next one. 

About Special Olympics Ireland

There are over 34,000 people with in intellectual disability on the island of Ireland, with over 11,000 athletes participating in 12 sports through 402 clubs.

The mission of Special Olympics Ireland is “to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with an intellectual disability, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendships with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.”
